Vanguard Assurance has demonstrated its strong commitment to give back to society and fulfil its corporate social responsibility by donating GHS 78,000.00 towards the construction of an Ultramodern Lube Bay at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The Ultramodern Lube Bay is a much-welcomed initiative for the school. In a speech given by the Vice-Chancellor of UCC, he remarked on the Ultramodern Lube Bay’s importance in servicing and maintaining the University’s vehicles.
This is not the first collaboration between Vanguard Assurance and the University, as the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Fred Saka commented, “We have worked with UCC for a number of years; we believe it is time to show our love and commitment to them. Whatever profits we have made over the period, we also want to share with UCC.”
Present at the sod-cutting ceremony was the Deputy Registrar and Directorate of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (rtd), Head of Distribution at Vanguard Assurance, Mr Samuel Asuman, Head of UCC Transport Section, Mr Frederick Baidoo and other staff of the transport department.
This donation to UCC is only the beginning of many other initiatives Vanguard Assurance and UCC plan to embark on to enhance the relationship between the two institutions. Moreover, Vanguard Assurance aims to continue pursuing projects that contribute to the goodwill of society.
